About Me
My name is Dave Benjamin, and I’m a web developer, programmer, and musician living in Phoenix, Arizona with my lovely wife, Barb. I work for Global Alerts on the Earth911.com website and supporting infrastructure. When I’m not writing code, I make beats on computer, keyboard, drum set, and a tiny bit of bass guitar, for my band, sp00. I also co-maintain the spoomusic.com net label, which provides an outlet for fellow experimental electronic musicians.
I am involved in several open source projects:
- xmlrpc-light, an XML-RPC library for OCaml
- itunesu-api-java, a Java client API for iTunes U web services
- pleac-ocaml, the free OCaml translation of the Perl Cookbook
I grew up in Hayward and Castro Valley, California. I graduated from Castro Valley High School in 1997 and then moved to Arizona, where I got my BS in Computer Science from ASU. I’ve lived here ever since.
